Natasha loves this so I thought I would share with others.

My Bubble Blower

These are honest and true pictures. The other day on an outing to Costco I turned around to see Natasha blowing a bubble. I know of some adults that cannot do this, and I was absolutely amazed that at 3 years old...she can. She was sooooooooo proud! The next day she couldn't do it but I explained to her sometimes things take a lot of practice. Anyway she can now do it quite easily BUT now everytime we go anywhere she wants to buy gum. I hope the novelty wears off soon.

My Christmas List

I am terrible for making up Christmas Lists and I always ask for things that are practical, for the house, etc and not something ONLY FOR ME. So another season is upon us and I have fallen into the same routine. Here is my Christmas wish list of practical gifts:

3)Frying Pans
4)Dresser matching my current His/Her bedside dressers

Delicious Oreo

Some people don't like pictures of messy kids. I do. It reminds me of innocent kids, having fun and not worrying about who is looking or what they might be saying. Ashley enjoyed her first oreo cookie today. I do not keep cookies in the house but decided to treat the girls today. She was enjoying it and I left the room for a quick moment. When I came back...I saw this, see below! Who knew delicious tasted that good!!!

Sisterly Love

If I had a private blog I would post the pictures that made me think of the title. I took these pictures after bathtime. They get to roam around nude for a while. Ashley was quite upset about something and actually push Natasha in the face. While I found it humourous for a bit, I put it to an end almost as quite as it started. I would consider this their first altercation that Ashley actually did something other than screaming her head off. Though I am aware there are more of these to come....I hope the have more friend times than foe times.

Daddy and His Girls

With Adam working out of town, when he comes home it is "Daddy this" and "Daddy that". All they want is to play with Daddy, be with Daddy, hugged by Daddy, etc. I snapped some pictures of them playing, and while they aren't portrait photos, you can see the love and fun they have with each other.

Bald Eagle

When I was in school the Bald Eagle was on the Endangered Species List. I recieved an email this morning and saw this picture taken by my aunt at their farm...



I thought I would pull some facts on this beautiful creature. I hope you learn something today....LOL

General Facts about the Bald Eagle
The bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a member of the sea and fish eagle group.


Color - Both male and female adult bald eagles have a blackish-brown back and breast; a white head, neck, and tail; and yellow feet and bill.


Juvenile bald eagles are a mixture of brown and white.


Size - The female bald eagle is 35 to 37 inches, slightly larger than the male.


Wingspan ranges from 72 to 90 inches.


Bald eagles can fly to an altitude of 10,000 feet. During level flight, they can achieve speeds of about 30 to 35 mph.


Bald eagles weigh from ten to fourteen pounds.


Eagle bones are light, because they are hollow.


The beak, talons, and feathers are made of keratin.


Bald eagles have 7,000 feathers.


Longevity - Wild bald eagles may live as long as thirty years.


Bald eagles sit at the top of the food chain


Lifting power is about 4 pounds.


Diet - Mainly fish, but they will take advantage of carrion (dead and decaying flesh).


The eagle is a strong swimmer, but if the water is very cold, it may be overcome by hypothermia.


Hunting area varies from 1,700 to 10,000 acres. Home ranges are smaller where food is present in great quantity.


All eagles are renowned for their excellent eyesight.


Nests are built in large trees near rivers or coasts.


An eagle reaches sexual maturity at around four or five years of age.


Fidelity - Once paired, bald eagles remain together until one dies.

Today, there are an estimated 7,066 nesting pairs of bald eagles.


Eagles molt in patches, taking almost half a year to replace feathers, starting with the head and working downward.


The Eagle became the National emblem in 1782 when the great seal of the United States was adopted.


Causes of death - Fatal gun shot wounds, electrocution, poisoning, collisions with vehicles, and starvation.


The bald eagle is closer to being delisted. The USFWS issued guidelines on how the bald eagle should be protected by landowners and others, once it's no longer safeguarded as a "threatened" species. There are proposals which prohibit disturbing the bald eagle, which include disruption of its breeding, feeding or sheltering practices, which could cause death, injury or nest abandonment. Officials said the action could lead to the removal of the bald eagle from the "threatened" species list within the next year or so.

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday, last year, we had plans to meet with my parents to celebrate their anniversary on the 12th. No one would have predicted that our dinner celebration would be moved from Japanese Village to the Misecordia Hospital. They have graciously shared their day with Ashley!! Today my mom was over for the birthday celebration and said she woke up this morning and said to herself "Today is Ashley's birthday." So while my parents have handed over, what was their day, to Ashley....this post is specfically for them!!

Happy Anniversary MOM and DAD! Thank you for the wonderful example of marriage and commitment!!

My Birthday Girl

Well today is Ashley's first birthday! We had family over for a small gathering. There was balloons, cake, snack, etc. It was a lovely, BUT TIRING, day. Natasha was there beside her sister every step of the way; helping with gifts, singing, and of course eating of birthday cake. It seems fitting that way because though today is Ashley's birthday it is also the day Natasha became a big sister. Natasha has taken on the roll with grace (most days) and extreme pride. Always watching for the small objects, open doors, pinched fingers, etc. I am very tired and laying in bed so the pictures will wait until tomorrow.

I can't believe how fast Ashley's first year as zoomed by. It is absolutely amazing how much an infant learns in the first year! From knowing only the basics to walking and communicating all in a matter of 12 months. Ashley took her first steps at about 10 months and then nothing for a month. At 11 months she started trying again. About 2 weeks ago she started walking or trying to everytime she stood up. Soon she will be running trying desperately to keep up to Natasha, Johnny and Koda.

My baby girls has, overnight, became a little girl. She has progressed from infant to toddler.

I am looking forward to this next stage. To witnessing the evolving relationship/friendship she has with her sister, the first words, and first fights with mom.

Thank you Ashley for a great year, and here is to many many more.

Warm and Fuzzies

One of mine is making buns with my Grandma. I love the smell of yeast, sticky dough hands, and the smell of fresh bread from the oven. Today I relived my memory and here are the results....

Birth Order of Children

I thought this was quite cute. Though I only have 2 thus far, it is still funny.

THE BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN

Your Clothes:

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN
confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
