Things to Do...

before baby comes. I have made a list of things I want to get done before the baby comes. Basically its a spring cleaning but rather happening as a baby cleaning.

Top items on the list are washing all the walls; washing all windows; Cleaning and organizing all closets; Washing down all cupboards; cleaning my cold storage; writing, addressing and mailing Christmas cards; thorough cleaning of all bedrooms.

I will be doing regular cleaning like changing all bedding, washing floors, vacuuming, dusting, etc right before the induction date.

Anyway I have accomplished the following:
1)I have completely cleaned/prepared the baby room. This includes washing walls to floors, washing all bedding (crib and twin bedding), setting up the crib (mobile, monitor, crib skirt, etc), putting batteries in anything required and moving the bassinet to our room. That being said the door is shut and visitors into the room are forbidden unless invited. Oh yes and two diaper bags are packed (and in the envoy) as well as the hospital bag is ready to go.

2) I have washed the walls in our bedroom, the girls bedroom, the upstairs hallway, the upstairs bathroom and down the stairs.

3) I have washed all the windows upstairs (with two blondes helping).

4) I have completed 1/2 of my Christmas cards, including addressing and writing inside the cards.

5) For kicks I changed out a bathroom sink. My husband asked "Is this what pregnant women do when they can't get something acceptably clean??"

Tomorrow I would like to clean our spare room, take Christmas pictures of the girls, and go through bags of girls clothes to send to the farm for Joanne. We also need to head to down because I have downed the rest of the milk tonight...so its toast and peaches for breakfast in the morning.

Gnite everyone!!!

Oh yeah and we only have 7 sleeps until hubby is home for over a month. YAY!!!!!!

Pirate vs Ninja

I saw this and thought of Kyliesmom. This could be the winning point for ninjas.

Feeling....

sad, lonely, worried and as though I could fill a bathtub with tears.

Could be because I am pregnant and overly emotional?? Could it be lack of sleep?? Can it just be without an explantion??

I don't want to talk about it. I don't want to explain it. I just want...a warm bath, my ipod, a box of kleenex and maybe a warm embrace.

Christmas

I usually try and hold off for December 1 to start with "Christmas." That being said with two little girls excited about lights and trees I start feeling like a little kid and can't help myself. I just wish there was snow because nothing makes me feel festive as a beautiful blanket of snow. I remember one brown Christmas and it really did not feel the same at all. Today the girls and I took out the Christmas decorations. I usually only have one room that is Christmas because I don't have that many decorations yet. I won't get it all up yet but the girls had fun looking at all their Christmas books and the decorations.

I don't have anything that I want for Christmas....nothing. People will say "Yeah right" but I seriously don't. If there was nothing under the tree for me I would not be disappointed in the least. I seriously just want a healthy baby boy in my arms, my sweet smiling girls and my darling husband beside me. I want to wake up and have our Christmas morning hot chocolate and see the joy of my daughters faces. The feeling I get thinking about that is worth more than any gift wrapped under a tree.

Anyway I will leave you with a Christmas song. The video sucks but I love the lively upbeatness of it. If you can stomach it...think of a smiling, barefoot, pregnant woman dancing around her house with two blonde beauties.

Baby Boy S

Today I saw my baby boy for the last time until we meet in the flesh. The technician assured me "it's definitely, definitely a boy." She did her measurements really quick and then showed me around baby. She pointed out his "twig and berries", his face, hands and feet, brain, heart, lungs and spine. The face shot was great because you could see him pursing his lips (getting ready to kiss his mom ;-) and then open his mouth for a breath. Baby is head down with his face slightly to the right and up.

My doctor appointment went well. My BP was 120/70 which is great compared to the 155/95 it was at one point. Keep in mind the medication is probably doing the job of keeping it down but I am happy that my dose has not been increased to maintain control. My appointments are now weekly with 21 days until the induction day (Dec 16). Next week she starts checking the "oven" so we'll see if things are starting on their own. I have my own feeling the baby will come before Dec 16 but what the hell do I know?

I have been having terrible restless legs at night. It is awful trying to get to sleep and when I finally am asleep I wake up for a bathroom break, and then it starts over again. Adam thinks its iron. Someone else suggested calcium. My doctor suggested Malox. I have been bathing and reading to relax before bed but it does not help. I drink tons of milk so I doubt its calcium. If the next couple of days don't improve I guess I will try the malox route and eat some more red meat and fish.

21 days...21 days!

Nessun Dorma

I just love this song. It makes me well up evertytime I hear it.

She's Everything by Brad Paisley

Everytime I hear this song I think of my husband. He may not be perfect BUT he is my everything!!

The video cannot be embeded to my blog so you can click here to watch it. The video isn't anything special so pay more attention to the words.

Things I like...

Things I like these days (taken from Jane and Jennifers blog):

I like the movement of my son. I like finding body parts and feeling the movement beneath my fingers. While I am anxious to not be pregnant I am trying to enjoy these last weeks when I don't have to share him with anyone.

I like the baby's room. Everything is ready to go and is just awaiting a little body. I like sitting in the rocking chair with a sleeper draped over my growing stomach. I feel very peaceful in there.

I like my baths. I soak with epson salts and lavender essential oil with flickering candle light. I put on my Ipod and drift to relaxing music (classical, opera, nature sounds).

I like an ice cold glass of milk. I am drinking lots of milk these days and it seems to be the only thing to truly quench my thirst.

I like my heating pad. I have one on the couch and one on my side of the bed. Whenever I lay down to relax my heating pad is almost always on.

I like waking up from a nap to little kisses on my cheek.

I like the smell of my husbands pillow.

Congratulations!!!

If you recall a previous post of mine I took pictures of a friend of mine and her daughter about a week before her due date. Last night she delivered a baby boy...CONGRATULATIONS!!! I know her daughter will be excited because she figures a baby boy equals bossing him around.

I am looking for prop ideas for when I go and take photos of her new son. The only idea I have thus far is a sheep skin rug. I think I may pop into Value Village to see if there are cool finds that could be used.

Birthday Celebrations

Adam was home this weekend so we decided to celebrate Ashley's birthday (which is actually Wednesday). For Ashleys birthday we went to Madagascar 2 and then bowling. It was a really nice day. She made it through the whole movie (despite the farm of ants in her pants) and was beat by Natasha at bowling. It MUST be noted that I beat Adam at bowling. I think it was a fluke because of one ball that rolled back and counted as a throw. We will have another rematch down the road as I believe fun was had by all.

After bowling we came home and made supper and then did cake and gifts. Ashley asked for a cake with suckers in it. My kids are so easy to please, sometimes. We had to light the candles twice because the first time she had them blown out before we got sing the first syllable of Happy Birthday. She blew 3 out without any effort whatsoever.

Natasha

Ashley is gone to visit with Nana and Grandad for a couple of days. I have been enjoying the alone time with Natasha. She is quite a funny little girl though I think she gets overshadowed by her clown of her sister. Anyway she has been sleeping with me and thinks she is pretty special (which no doubt she is). She also thinks she is getting to stay up "late" with the time change. I haven't shared the truth but rather decided to let her believe I am a super cool, nice mom.

I wanted to take some pictures of Natasha on the train tracks near our place. We waited a little to long to head out which resulted in a quick photoshoot as both of got chilly. I want to take some more shots of her tomorrow before the wild cat returns. Natasha is so good to take photos, NOW, and follows my directions without much resistance.

Here are the railroad shots:

Alone

Yesterday I went to Edmonton, solo. I had two things to accomplish; photos for a friend and Christmas shopping. I accomplished both plus squeezed in a quick visit with a high school friend and her sweet, little, heart-tugging boy.

You can see the photos I took on this blog.
