My Monkeys

Natasha tried the monkey bars today and could go one swing to another bar. After a little bit of encouragement and some technique advice I went to clean out a little bit of the envoy. Natasha came running over to the envoy to tell me she made it all the way across. Here is the proof:

Sick and Tired...

I am long overdue for an update and it has been weighing on my mind so here I am at 11:15pm. I had a long days work and I just finished making a batch of sushi (pregnancy craving) to munch on tomorrow. I am going to go by days here and they will be brief but at least let my readers know I am alive and have been kind of busy. If I miss any days they were pretty uneventful and I can't remember anything that was blog worthy.

Saturday - I shot my first wedding. It was a lovely wedding though I was pretty stressed out about getting good pictures. Between my mom and I we got some great shots. I shared some of the pictures with the bride and groom before they left on their honedymoon (Mexico) and they were happy with what they saw...big sigh of relief from me. The girls spent the day with my Auntie Betty. They had a great time with her and Natasha did not want to go home because she wanted to have a sleepover. It was a long day and we got home around 10:00pm.

Sunday - We went into Camrose to return my brothers car. We spent some of our day at my parents place just lazing about.

Tuesday - We headed into Edmonton because the girls had dentist appointments. Another thing I love about where we live is that we are close enough to Edmonton to keep the wonderful doctors we already have. Anyway Natasha has two cavaties which she has to get treated. One will require a cap and the other one will just be a filling. The cavities are both in the back molars in between the teeth and were found via xray. The dentist and hygenist say she is so good that they can do both in one visit and she will just require nitrous gas (and then freezing). The only part Natasha and I have discussed is the nitrous gas as she will worry about the needle from now until the appointment. I would like to go in and hold her hand but they said they do much better without a parent present so I will just sit and stew in the waiting room. Ashley had no cavities but the dentist said she has a very small mouth so be prepared for crowding in later years. After the dentist we grab something to eat and then headed over to my cousins place to pick up some baby things she was giving away before they move. The girls played with her boys. They don't see each other often but they always have a great time together. We drove back to Camrose and stopped quickly at my parents. We then went to Safeway quickly and then grabbed a ice cream cone before heading home for the evening.

Thursday - I woke up and was taking an easy morning. I got a call from my cousin asking when I was planning on stopping by after my doctors appointment. I, with my pregnancy brain, thought it was early afternoon. I looked at my calendar at 930am only to learn my appointment was at 1040am which left me 1hr10 min to get dressed, drop the girls off and get to my appointment in the west end. I did not make it in time but I called the office and let them know I was going to be late and to not cancel me of the appointment list for the day. I got there only to sit and wait for a while. My blood pressure was raised for the day which I predicted considering my panicked morning. After the appointment I ran to the Childrens Place and got the girls some summer clothes for knocking around outside. I headed homeward bound and stopped at my parents to check on the girls. I went home and checked my chickens and then laid down for a nap. I woke up after about 45 minutes only to fall back asleep. I finally woke up at 530pm and then headed back to Camrose to help my dad change the roters on my vehicle. He was surprised how easy the process was compared to the difficulty he has had changing my oil. I helped put the girls to bed and then headed home around 930pm. I got home and fell onton the couch. I watched a little bit of a movie before heading to bed for the night.

Friday - Woke up and did some cleaning and laundry without the girls present (which makes it so much easier). The girls and my mom came home around 1200-1230. We sat down for a coffee and some lunch before heading outside. With the help of my mom we got a lot accomplished. We planted a good chunk of the garden and made a fence for my chickens. They can now get outside and enjoy the sunshine, bugs and fresh vegetation. I think the dogs may be able to get through the fence so they may need to be tied up while the chickens are roaming about. We may have to build a better fence in the future or a dog run for the mutts.

I am totally exhausted but I feel better having updated my blog.

GNITE!!!

Published

Canadian Scrapbooker

This brag is three fold. I took some pictures at Natasha and Ashley's joint Birthday/Halloween party last year. The pictures sat dormant for a while until my mom decided to scrapbook. My mom sent it in for submission to Canadian Scrapbooker.

Now getting asked for submission is cool enough but we just found out it will be published for the September 1 issue.

So the brag is three fold because my name will be mentioned because it was my photo, my mom published because it was her layout, and of course Natasha because she was the inspiration.

The layout and picture was to be taken down anywhere it was posted so I apologize for not being able to share.

So watch out for Canadian Scrapbooker in September 2008.

Hoo Doos

Royal Tyrell Museum

Drumheller

On Friday we took a trip to Drumheller with a coworker of Adam's and his wife. They are moving back to Newfoundland and decided to finally do a tour of Alberta (packed into one weekend) before they leave. So we were on the road at 8:30am and didn't get home until after 10:00pm. It was a long day but a fun one.

The following pictures were taken before we got to the Royal Tyrell Musuem. We loaded the girls into the Envoy still wearing their PJs so we had to do a wardrobe change.

HATE...

The following definition was taken from Wikipedia.com:

Hatred is a word to describe immense feelings of dislike toward a person, a group or a thing. An intense feeling towards someone or something, wanting to kill, harm or avoid a person or thing, in feelings of dislike.
An all consuming emotion, a person consumed by hatred is not thinking rationally and will feel a compulsion to do terrible things.

I was brought up knowing the word hate was not to be used. I was taught the word hate was so strong that you would be willing to kill that something you hated. A little over the top....maybe but when I read the above description of hatred I felt my parents reasoning justified.

There are only a few instances in which I could use the word hate. If something was done to my children or husband in a malicious way I am sure I would find myself consumed with hate. The definition would fit because I could imagine myself wanting to kill or harm that person or persons.

Today on LP, a lady posted about HATING women that just blink and get pregnant. Though she is struggling with infertility I found the use of the word hate rather strong and was surprised to find a response after mine encouraging her to use that word.

I am wondering if I am alone in my thought process. Do you use the word hate freely?? What do you hate??

Still Around....

Hi Everyone. I have been a TERRIBLE blogging friend as of lately.

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for the congratulations on my pregnancy. Though my original post didn't come off oozing excitement we are excited and looking forward to becoming a family of 5. The pregnancy thus far has completed knocked me on my ass. I am exhausted, what feels like ALL THE TIME. By the time the girls are in bed I can barely pull myself off the couch. I have spent many full nights on the couch just because I have fallen asleep to the TV. I have been getting up and riding my bike for half an hour every morning which seems to help until late afternoon. The girls have been good at allowing me a nap for half hour to 45 minutes. I have been getting nausea off and on but nothing further than that. Even as I type now, my eyes could close for the remainder of the night. I remember feeling this with Natasha but not with Ashley. I know this will pass (hopefully) come the second trimester but its seems so far away.

We have been busy outside. The chickens are doing well and I am just waiting for my first eggs. My layers and broilers are now socializing together which makes things little easier. I want to build a big enclosure for them outside so they can graze. Maybe we will get that done with Adam home. The girls still love the chickens and remind me its time to check on them. It looks as though we will have 3 more cockerels in addition to the two we have now. Now I like roosters but not 5 so we will try and give 2-3 away.

The garden is ready to be planted. I rented a tiller and it went quite well. I have some stakes measured out and now it is just the time to plant. I went to the greenhouse yesterday and bought a couple of perennials and many annuals. The annuals will be placed mainly in big wooden barrels I have yet to purchase. I will either leave them on our deck or at the front door. I have to plant my front flower garden which will consist of mostly perennials. I love the idea of planting one year and having it year after year. A lot of my plants in the back are coming up along with my asparagus (I thought of you Jane). I have tulips everywhere which are just starting to open up. I am torn as to whether let them bloom outside or cut them for flowers inside. To be honest...I think I will leave them be outside. My lillies are coming up nicely and should also be blooming shortly. I am so thankful for two Lois Hole Books...The Vegetable Garden and Perennial Favorites. My pumpkins are up as well as my watermelons. My cantaloupes are taking their time. I will plant the pumpkins outside soon but will wait a little longer for the watermelons. I am hoping I can grow a successful watermelon...that would be so cool. I broke down and bought some tomato plants at the greenhouse. Mine are coming up but slowly and I want tomatoes before next season. I will have to try something new next year.

We had Daylan's grad on the weekend and it was lovely. I was out and about taking pictures and I think I was successful at capturing some special moments. I find my eye for photography developing but still lacking in areas. I have a wedding coming up here in May which should be interesting. I am very nervous. Anyway back to Daylan. His grad was lovely. The ceremony was long and I found the speakers weren't very good. The students actually spoke better than most of the adults. The girls were lovely and the boys handsome. Natasha and Ashley LOVED seeing all the girls dressed like princesses. Daylan, I think, was proudest when he came down from the stands after throwing up his cap. He was beaming and proud to see my mom and myself standing there for him. There is some much I remember of Daylan growing up as I was nearly 10 when he was born. I remember changing diapers, feeding, bathing. I remember dressing him up and him running to me for a hug when Dana hurt his ferlings (feelings). I remember him needing help with something or wanting to share something he did at school. Now I look at Daylan and see a man. A man standing tall with everything at his grasp. I see a well rounded individual that has made good choices and done very little in the way of stupidity. Sometimes it bothers me that he doesn't want to talk to me or spend time with me. I realize he is grown and can deal with things on his own and he has his own life. I hope one day our relationship will grow into friendship. Until that day...I am still and will always be proud to call him my brother.

There were several people out for Daylan's grad. Daryl and Lori brought a bunch of stuff for the girls which they are thrilled about. They also figured my female cat, Moony, may be pregnant. While I would like to make myself believe she is not...her stomach is big and tight. I think it will only be a matter of time. Anyone want a kitten??

Adam is home now for a week. We are going the Tyrell Musuem on Friday and we may also it the Calgary Zoo. I think the two in one day will be two much for the girls but we will see. I also have somethings around here that I want help with so it may be best if it was only a day trip. I am so glad to have Adam home.

Well I am utterly exhausted now and am going to lay down on the couch.

Religion Joke

I got this email and I thought it was cute.

A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak.

After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done.

The monsignor replied, 'When I am worried about getting nervous on the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip.'

So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice.

At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink.

He proceeded to talk up a storm.

Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:

1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.

2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.

3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.

4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.

5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass.

6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.

7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Big Daddy, Junior and the spook.

8) David slew Goliath; he did not kick the shit out of him.

9) When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he was stoned off his ass.

10)We do not refer to the cross as the 'Big T.'

11)When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, 'Take this and eat it for it is my body.' He did not say 'Eat me'.

12)The Virgin Mary is not called 'Mary with the Cherry'..

13)The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for the grub, Yeah God.

14)Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St. Peter's not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's.

The news is spreading like a brush fire so I figure I better start controlling it. I am taking the lack of self control as excitement so I am trying to not let it bother me to much.
