From my moms' blog. I thought it was funny enough to share on mine!
Friday Funny for all my Farming Friends!!!!
A man took his wife to the Canadian Bull Congress Show and one of the first exhibits they stopped at was the breeding bulls.
They went up to the first pen and there was a sign attached that said,
'THIS BULL MATED 50 TIMES LAST YEAR'
The wife playfully nudged her husband in the ribs and said, 'He mated 50 times last year.'
They walked to the second pen which had a sign attached that said, '
'THIS BULL MATED 150 TIMES LAST YEAR'
The wife gave her husband a healthy jab and said, 'That's more than twice a week! You could learn a lot from him.'
They walked to the third pen and it had a sign attached that said, in capital letters,
'THIS BULL MATED 365 TIMES LAST YEAR'
The wife, so excited that her elbow nearly broke her husband's ribs, said,'That's once a day.You could REALLY learn something from this one.
The husband looked at her and said,
'Go over and ask him if it was with the same old cow.

Behind AGAIN!!!
Well my favorite blogger hasn't posted in nearly a week so I don't feel so bad.
We've had a nothing week really. The usual swimming, dancing and coaching. Adam is settling into his job in Edmonton. Lots of driving but worth it when he walks in the door....home. We may look into buying a small car as the gas used by is truck is a lot nevermind the mileage he is racking up. Who knows...
We have been having great weather and spending a lot of time outside. Yesterday we gathered some wood from around the property and I cut it into pieces for firewood. We have SO MUCH random wood everywhere and some buildings that should be demolished this spring. Last year we enjoyed the move and our new place. We made changes to the inside of the house and now it is time to tackle the outside. Ashley is at a tough age as the snow suit is still hard for her to maneuver in. She is happiest sitting in the snow with things around her to play with. Natasha loves being outside and doesn't like coming in. She travels around on adventures and finds treasure...I love her imagination. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING.
We planted some items inside this week. I am determined to have a green thumb much to the encouragement of my dear husband. I planted some herbs, tomato plants, and some annuals. I am hoping for success. Most of the flowers/plants around the house are perinneals which makes it easy for me. Last year I gutted a bed by our front door. It was really overgrown and blocked the look of the front entrance. I want people to use the front entrance as the back entrance requires them to walk through my laundry room (usually messy). Anyway the plan is to have a flower garden with low plants, lots of colour, and a small patio set in order to make it more welcoming.
I am always afraid to reveal to much on my blog knowing a lot of family reads it but it is MY blog. I am lonely! I have a great family, immediate and extended, but no friends. I don't think I am socially inept but I find it hard when everyone seems to have lifelong friends. I didn't have many/any friends in school because my circle of friends was in the swimming pool. I have kept in touch with a handful of them but the contact seems few and far between. Sometimes I think I was popular in the pool because of my talent not my personality and that crushes me. My husband is great and personable. He seems to make friends wherever he goes. I feel bad for him because of my lack of friends I try and hang on to him a little to much. I just would like to have someone for me. To call up for a simple cup of coffee. These feelings have nothing to do with my friendships with family nor do my feelings diminish those special relationships. These feelings also have nothing to do with our move. My loneliness was around before our move and has nothing to do with our new rural location. This is also something I don't really want to talk about because in my mind I am talking about it now...on my blog. Here's hoping some friendships develop when Natasha starts school.
Anyway on to my weekly shout outs:
Uncle Daryl - I don't think he tunes into my blog but I think about him every time I am getting the girls ready to go outside and I will tell you why; when I was little we (my sister and I) would spend hours outside with him. My biggest pet peeve was my mitts/gloves always coming out of the sleeve of my coat. Well my uncle being the genius (and I use the word lightly) grabbed some electrical tape and wrapped it around my wrists. Now we could play outside without mitts coming loose or snow making its way up our sleeves. Anyway I have since passed this genius use of tape onto my daughters. If I try and send them out without it they both shout "We need some tape."
My parents - We had several rocky years when our relationship was mandatory rather than enjoyed. I am happy to say that our relationship has developed into something beautiful and more cherished. They are always willing to do anything for me and my family without expecting anything in return. I gained an enormous amount of instant respect for them when I became a parent.

Tagged....by someone other than my mom or sister!
I have been tagged by Jane. Sorry Jane I have taken so long to play.
You must list one fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name. Each fact must begin with that letter. If you don't have a middle name, just use your maiden name. After you've been tagged, you need to up-date your blog with your middle name and answers. At the end of your post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name.
So here we go:
D: Determined - when I decide I want something there is nothing that will stand in my way. I will learn anything/everything I need to know to accomplish what I want.
A: Antisocial - for the most part I am antisocial. Its not that I lack social skills just the confidence that my company will be enjoyed. However my husband reminds me that after a couple of drinks I am a social butterfly and its hard to keep track of me because I am flitting all over the place.
W: Warm - I think I am a warm soul.
N: I can't think of anything other than NICE and thats kind of boring...I'll come back to this one.

I LOVE weddings...
I went to a wedding yesterday that I was honored to attend. I was close friends with the bride and her family during our swimming years. Below are some of the pictures I took. Some of them were quite dark because I don't have good flash to I auto fixed them in photoshop so you can at least see faces.

Cat Nip Epsiode
I gave the cats catnip on the deck yesterday. Koda our older male loves it but it was the kittens first time. They also loved it and got a sudden burst of confidence. Usually Koda bullies them about and they just, kind of, take it. A little taste of catnip and they were standing their ground. I was funny to walk them rolling around in it.

Total Lunar Eclipse
The below are my shots of the lunar eclipse last night. I set up my moms tripod in the dark field beside us. I went back every fifteen minutes (or so) and took shots. I am pretty happy as this is my first time capturing something in complete dark using my settings. Hope you enjoy!!

Spring Cleaning
I know some people start spring cleaning in January however I despise cleaning. It wasn't until I got the gardening itch that I decided to start with my spring cleaning. My thought process is the sooner my house is done I can be outside when spring is actually here. We came here half way through the spring/summer and missed all the spring work outside...it is going to be a lot but worth it. I love our place!!!
Anyway yesterday I cleaned our back entrance, storage room and my laundry room. I did some reorganizing and moving of things. I think I will tackle one room a day (here and there) and I should be down in no time. I want to wash walls, windows, screens, etc. I got some bins to start up my recycling again. I do miss that about Edmonton; put everything in one bag and put it on the curb....no sorting. Anyway we have been accumulating a lot of garbage and it has been weighing on my conscience.
I also want to get a compost going this year. If I recycle and compost it should cut down on our garbage immensely. I am also trying to change my cleaning supplies to more "green" choices. I have switched my laundry detergent and dish detergent.I have found some websites that have natural cleaning recipes that I will also try and use. I feel bad saying it but it seems I am more aware of what I use when we have a well and our own land to protect.
Are you done your spring cleaning or is this something you do throughout the year??

Back on Track
Well after some seriously hectic weeks I am going to try and get back on track.
This week is a short (work) week but long weekends don't usually apply in our house. The weather is looking promising tomorrow so we will likely stay around home and get in some much needed play time outside. I may cut down some trees for firewood. We could go into town but I will be making two trips on Tuesday so I don't want to make three trips in two days. I was at Walmart yesterday and they had all the garden/flower seeds out. It made me super itchy to plant my garden. I may draw up a plan as this will be my first year having a big garden. I have lots of experts to call on so I am sure I will be ok.
Tuesday we have our continued swimming lessons. I just keep registering us session after session as we all enjoy it. Tuesday night my father and I are working bingo for Natasha's Ukrainian dance club. We have to work 3 throughout the year and I am thankful to my dad for helping me bang out 2 in one night. Oh and the biggest excitement is Adam is home...permanently for a while. He has decided to quit up in Fort Mac and take another call closer to home. It could, potentially, be a lot more driving but he would be home everday and every weekend. The girls do not know as we want to surprise him. I am excited. Little does Adam know, I have a secret plan. Last year he missed out on a lot of yard maintenance, gardening, painting, etc. I plan to use him to the fullest extent when I have him home. Mwah ha ha. Oh don't worry love I also have some snuggles and cuddles planned as well.
Wednesday is dance night for Natasha. She missed 2 weeks due to our trips (Jamaica, Farm). She was glad to be back last week and learned a new step. Apparently she also talked all class about our Jamaica trip.
Thursday and Friday are nothing days.
Saturday I have a wedding to attend which I am very much looking forward to. There are going to be some families from my swimming days that I haven't seen or spoke to in years. It will be great to catch up and it will be nice to have an evening out with my husband. I have yet to decide if I should book a hotel and plan an overnight evening.
And that is what is happening in my world this week. What is going on in yours??

Mad
Bedtime with Natasha is a fight every night. It is the most detested part of my day. Once they are asleep I get time to myself but the process from bedtime to sleep is sometimes sooooo long. My two girls are alike and opposites in so many ways. Anyway tonight we had some fun before it was lights out. Both of them think mad faces involve scrunching your face and closing your eyes. Natasha had a fit of giggles, because of her clown sister, so her mad faces are made in between fits of laughter.

Definitions
The definition of life support:
1)of or pertaining to equipment or measures that sustain or artificially substitute for essential body functions, as breathing or disposal of body wastes
2)of or pertaining to anything that fosters or sustains life, success, or continued existence, as of a person, thing, or nation
The definition of treatment:
1. care provided to improve a situation (especially medical procedures or applications that are intended to relieve illness or injury)
Life support and letting someone go is very personal and emotional. I think you need to share your own personal beliefs long before the "situation" arrives and have someone that will/can carry out your wishes when those around you aren't ready to say goodbye. I am not demeaning anyones ideals or beliefs on the subject just sharing my own. I think, when dealing with death, it is hard to put your own beliefs aside and carry out the wishes of those dying. Our family is dealing with a very sad, personal and emotional situation involving someone very dear to us. Though I am not part of the decision process I hope in the end the decision is based on what "she" would want not what "we" want.

1. care provided to improve a situation (especially medical procedures or applications that are intended to relieve illness or injury)

Gone Again...
I will get back on my schedule once I return from a sad but needed trip the farm. My dear Baba is in the hospital and this time will not get out. At 89 and many "comebacks" the final outcome looks to be more final. While I am terribly sad I also feel lucky. I am 27 years old and have been blessed to have such a wonderful person grace my life as long as she has. I will be thankful for another day, week or year...whatever she is willing to give.
