Mission Monday

So I have decided to start a weekly photo challenge. It will be pretty simple to participate and just for fun. If you choose to follow along, take your photos and post them to your blog (if you have one). You can get a lot of great tips and ideas here.

The first challenge will be to photograph the "Little Things." I got the idea from I Heart Faces in the tutorial section.

Take 5-10 photos of things (not people) that bring a smile to your face. It could be an object that reminds you of your kids. It could be a cd that you love to sing along to. It could be a room or chair that you love. Try and think of something that is not obvious.

Try and capture something that your memory may lose in the future but feels important enough to capture today. Use whatever camera you have and have fun with it.

If you can, make one post with all photos by the Sunday. You can choose to explain your photos or simply have a wordless post.

I will try and post a new challenge every Monday.

First Day of Grade One...

Natasha is at grade one today. I took many pictures and even got in one myself. Can't believe she will be gone everyday. I really did not like taking first day of school pictures with my mom. Actually I dreaded it and deliberately made myself look miserable just to be difficult. I am sure I will encounter the same thing from the kids years down the road but for now I am happy to have a willing subject. Its nice to look back at Natasha's first day of kindergarten and see just how much she has grown up over the year. Love you Natasha and Dad and I are so very proud you and the little person you are becoming!

in no particular order. Obviously I love more than just these three people so take no offense if your face is not on this post ;-)

The pictures aren't the greatest but they fill me with much love and adoration as well as sadness. These people are my grandparents. One will be 93. One will be 91. One just turned 68 and is suffering with severe Alzheimers. My world will be a very sad place when they leave this world but I know I can't keep them forever.
