Below is a video of the storm that hit Big Valley Jamboree on August 1, 2009. The video was shot by CISN's Mike McGuire and he has already turned it over to Camrose Police.
There are going to be people wanting to blame the organizers of Big Valley. They should have done this...should have done that.
I check the weather websites several times each day. Camrose was under a thunderstorm watch, all day up until we left for Big Valley at 5:40pm. When we were driving into Camrose the storm front still looked far away...we still had blue skies and no breeze. The storm seriously reared its ugly head within 5 minutes. Yesterday we were under a Severe Thunderstorm watch all day...and nothing happened. No wind, no rain, no hail, NOTHING.

I agree with you Danica...we will be going again next year! It was mother nature and that is all.
I wasn't happy with the way the police and security handled things after the storm in regards to the children that were separated from their parents. I have written them a letter tho.
