My mom gave me the first book in the Twilight Series while I was in the hospital with Tyson. I started reading it late last week, skeptical as to whether or not I would enjoy this type of genre. Anyway I am happy to report, so far so good. I, in reading the descriptions of Edward, thought of Jane (Escaping the City blog). In my mind I picture Edward as a perfect being, almost statuesque or a perfect painting. It made me think of the movie and how finding a suitable actor would be hard to do.
I got the rest of the series for Christmas so my next 3 books are planned out for me.

Enjoy! I had already seen the movie 'Edward' before I read the books, so I had him as the picture in my head while I read the books. In that way, I wasn't so disappointed with him when the movie came out, the way so many people were.....
Probably a good thing lol because there were so many other things that disappointed me about the movie ;)
I guess my whole point was that they rushed into it - I feel the author rushed having the books published - there was no gap between them in the way there was between the Harry Potters.....and then they rushed out the movie. If they had been more patient - waited for the hysteria of the books to become bigger as it did, then a BIGGER budget would have become available -a bigger company would have bought the rights and a better movie would have been made. I guess THAT was my point all along. I just feel sad that they rushed into it and it was made so cheaply!
At least they have more money now for the next movie and so it should be better and less cheesy. I hope! Book 2 was good :)
I got the series for Christmas too. Have to finish the james Rollins book I've had on the go, but am excited to read what all the fuss is about!
I want to buy this series!! I can't wait to read it!! I want to read them before I see the movie!!
Hmmm, I've only heard of this so-called Edward fellow online. I've been reading "I am Hutterite" and we've decided to give away our world possessions and join the Brethern...lol ;) Ok Not really but maybe? ;) Muwahaha. Enjoy your time with your little man and some good books! Happy New Year!
