Tyson Meets....

Baba and Gido. This past weekend my mom and I went to visit the farm. Baba is in a nursing home and Gido recently fell ill and was in the hospital. The girls headed south for a visit with Nana and Grandad so the timing for a trip was good. While we were there I checked some cattle that were due to calf, saw a hockey game, trudged through thigh high snow for a picture, bought some awesome bacon and visited with other relatives. A trip to the farm is always a good trip, though usually always busy.

Below are pictures of Baba and Gidos first meeting with Tyson. The pictures aren't great but at least I have it documented. It is hard to get a great picture when neither have the strength to hold a newborn but they were both thrilled and talked to him like I remember they talked to my brother.

Twilight

The Twilight series is coming to an end for me. I am starting the fourth and final book, Breaking Dawn. I have enjoyed the series thus far but I am anxious for the day that I don't dream of or wake up thinking of Edward, Bella and Jacob.

I would really like the opportunity to curl up in bed and just read, read, read. However that's a fantasy dream world that just won't materialize for another several years.

Time Again

It is time again for this. In a couple of weeks we will be getting some chicks from a preschool in Edmonton. I will also be ordering broilers to come in the middle of April for butchering at the end of June. I am happy to say that half of my order is already sold!! Who knows, maybe I will be doing two cycles this year.

Exotics

I want a rooster like this. I realize the rooster wouldn't serve much purpose other than looking cool as he struts around.

I am not sure if I have mentioned it yet but I think I like chickens.

Beauty

Another beautiful thing about living in the country...gorgeous sunsets. Obviously, you see sunsets in the city but they just don't seem as magnificant. They aren't great photos but makes you realize, despite the cold and snow, we live in an absolutely beautiful province!
