Carving Pumpkins

Well Monday before Adam left back to Fort McMurray we carved our pumpkins. Natasha was much better this year....digging right in to gut the pumpkin (last year she wanted nothing to do with it). I printed some templates off the internet. Adam did a cat, I did a face with a mouth that says (or supposed to say) SMILE, and Natasha did a pumpkin all her own. She coloured hers, stabbed holes into, and cleaned the inside. She is very proud of her pumpkin. Ashley did not do much participating this year. She happily sat in her high chair eating a piece of pizza. Check back later today/tonight for Halloween Party and Halloween pictures.

Let it Snow

Well to me this was our first snow fall of the year. It snowed Friday night, and the girls woke up to a snow covered front lawn. Immediately Natasha wanted to head outside for some snow fun. Half hour later after getting the girls we headed outside for about 10-15 min of fun. I can see Natasha wanting to play outside more in the winter than in the summer. Ashley is just not quite sure of these STRANGE surroundings. Though winter beauty is far superior out of the city, I did find a little kicking around our yard. My snapdragons were bought at Greenland Nursery in Sherwood Park, and have survived so wonderfully. I think after the beautiful flowers I had this year, I will not purchase at another greenhouse. When I see a snowfall like this...it reminds me Christmas is near. I absolutely love snow, however I could easily do without the famous Alberta cold. Here's to a winter with lots of snow, and mild temperatures.

Walking

My little Ashley will soon be walking. A couple of months ago she took 3 steps out of the blue. I was so shocked I think I scared her with my gasp and she has not attempted since...until today. Everytime she stood up today, she was attempting steps, which was at least 3. She has also figured out how to climb stairs! So just when you think you have them figured out and contained when they are crawling...they decided to walk. She will be 1 in about 2 weeks, so if I remember correctly...about the same time Natasha started walking. We will be having a small birthday party for Ashley consisting of Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents. I can't believe that she is going to be 1! Her first years seems to have past much faster than Natasha first year. I guess, like my mom says, the fun is just starting.

Natasha had preschool today. She really enjoys class, and today she painted a pumpkin. All the kids got their pictures back today, but because Natasha was sick last week she has none. In spring when she was in the "My first preschool class" at the YMCA, she really didn't participate during song time. She looked around and watched but never got into it. Now she sings, and dances, does the actions and has fun. I have really noticed how much she likes to sing, and how she is remembering songs. She even likes to walk around the house making up her own songs.

Ashley and I went shopping while Natasha was in preschool. I didn't much anything special except everyone got new toothbrushes today. I bought the girls some new shirts for pictures (if we ever get them done), and some shaving stuff for Adam. I was going to wash the Envoy but everywhere was so lined up that we had to skip it in order to pick Natasha up on time.

Adam is back in two days. We have planned a date night for Saturday and we are going to see the Departed. I am going to go back to Yoga on Thursday evening and would like to go a couple more times on the weekend...but we will see. Adam has to go to the decided on Friday night and hopefully gets his crowns while we have double benefits.

Well thats it I think...

Slipped

Well I admit I slipped. I had a couple of days where I was feeling really lazy, and down...and did not feel like posting. So here is what has been happening.

Saturday we went out and met Dana and Cody last downtown. Dana and Cody took the girls to Denny's for a milkshake while I attended to some personal affairs. On the way home we stopped at Toys R Us for some toy "windo" shopping. They had some pretty good sales on. With Christmas on its way, Natasha has been told to start making a list so everything she sees she says "Santa for me".

Sunday was a gorgeous day outside. Carita helped me out and watched the girls while I attended a yoga class. It was Bikram Yoga! The class is 90 minutes long, 105F with 60% humidity. The instructors said if it was your first class, to focus on staying in the room for the whole class even if you could not do the poses. I managed quite well I thought. I attempted all the poses, and stayed in the room the whole time. The heat actually did not even bother me until about the last 1/2 hour. I got a one week unlimited pass for $20 so I am going to try and make full use of it. After that it is quite pricey but I would like to continue going once a week or two. I bought a book off of ebay, so I am going to try and follow it at home.

Today we went to Chapters and Natasha had an absolute meltdown. She has been having bad tantrums at the stores lately and I am not sure what to do. I am hoping it is just a phase.

Adam is back in 3 days, and I can't wait.

I did not post last night and will not post much tonight because I am feel BLUE and LONELY! Does anyone deliver Marble Slab Ice Cream???

New Clothes

THANK YOU CARITA, and ANNA!!! Natasha got a new wardrobe today, and everything is just as I expected. Without exagerating I can say that she got: at least 25 new shirts, 6 new pairs of pants, 3 skirts, 4 dresses, 5 pairs of tights, countless socks, 6 pairs of shoes/boots, 1 jacket, 3 sweaters, 3 pairs pjs, etc!!! We got everything hung up, folded, and put away. Natasha picked out a "new" pair of pjs for bed. I truly owe something to this lovely woman as this is probably the 4th wardrobe she has given us without expecting anything in return. If anyone has suggestions, please post.

We cleaned up downstairs some more and I finished up after the kids were in bed. I gave away a couple of things through a website I frequent. I have some more things to go through but it will have to wait until the weekend. I also want to head to Ikea or Jysk and pick up some shelving for my laundry room. I also want to get some closet organizers for the kids rooms. I am thinking have having all their clothes in one room, and toys in another. At some point, another baby or not, I want them to share a room with a bunk bed. If there are no more kids, they will share a room, and the other room will be a playroom. Adam may have a list of things to do when he comes home. I could put up shelves myself but I need to find a stud finder so everthing is secure and will not fall on someones head.

We will be heading out to Grandma and Gidos tomorrow after Natasha's preschool. Someone very close to my MIL passed away and I am going to the funeral on Friday in Red Deer. They will keep them while I go, and then we will come home on Friday or Saturday morning.

Other than that...I am anxious to get out of the house. With Natasha sick we stuck very close to home. I guess it may a look into the winter when the weather is cold, and the roads are bad.

Keeping My Word

We had a really nice family weekend with Adam home. Aside from his aching mouth from all the dental work being done...he puts on a happy face, and makes the most of his days with us.
-Friday he had a dentist appointment, so we stuck close to home.
-Saturday we went to the museum and then out to lunch. Natasha really enjoys the museum, and is really enquistive. After about an hour, she was ready to leave so we headed to the gift shop. We walked out with 3 flavored candy sticks, and nothing else. When it comes to Natasha she will chose a piece of candy over a $50.00 anything, anyday. Saturday evening I went and got my hair cut. It was nice to get out by myself, and enjoy a little pampering. I was ready for a change from my long hair. I always wear it up in a bun or pony and thought it was time for something a little more wearable and easy. The lady I had did a wonderful job. She and her boyfriend just moved from the east coast in May. She is slowly getting used to Edmonton, but desperately misses home. I actually felt kind of sorry for her...she was obviously the new person, and no one seemed to acknowledge her.
-Sunday we got up and went to Tim Hortons for coffee and donuts, and then headed out shopping to Canadian Tire, and Marks Work Wearhouse. I got some new rubber floor mats for my vehicle, Adam got supplies to change his oil. He got a bunch of warm winter gear for work at Marks. I am going to head back there and pick up a new winter jacket, as the Windriver styles were one half price. I got to go grocery shopping with one kid which makes life and shopping so much easier.

Today was a busy day! I had a meeting for Natasha preschool at 1:00. Adam left back to Fort McMurray. Dad came over to pick up the treadmill. AND Natasha was struck down with a nasty fever. Her fever seems to have taken a turn for the best but I hope the results stay the same once the Advil wears off. I better call it a night it case it turns into a long one full of sick, sweet little girls!
