A little chicken lesson for those that don't know. The following video is of my broilers (Cornish Giants). They are bred and grown entirely for meat. They are ready for butcher in as little as 6 weeks (though I am raising mine until 9 weeks). You get more meat for dollar spent on feed with these guys compared to a dual purpose bird (dual purpose=good egg layer/meat producer). The dual purpose birds can take upwards of 16-20 weeks before they reach a decent enough size to butcher therefore not very cost effective.
